Pretzel & White Chocolate Dipped Strawberries

Kitchenette Pretzel and White Chocolate Dipped Strawberries
Awkward Kitchenette Pretzel & White Chocolate Dipped Strawberries

Lots of food reminds me of a specific place or time.

An obvious example, funnel cakes remind me of the state fair where we went every year for my birthday.

(Note to self, figure out homemade funnel cakes.)

A less obvious example, strawberry jello pretzel salad reminds me of funerals.

So here is a non-funeral version of that.

Plus better.

With luscious fresh strawberries,

creamy white chocolate coating

and crunchy salty pretzels.

I think these just bumped up my treat list, too.

These are so simple and so easy to make, you are required to try them right away.

Seriously, head for the store now.

Pretzel & White Chocolate Dipped Strawberries

Ingredients:
Strawberries
White Chocolate Candy Coating
Pretzels (I used butter pretzels, yum)
Coarse Salt

Step #1: Smash pretzels - I put a handful in a baggie and just pounded them with my hand/a spoon.  You want some chunky pieces and some to be obliterated into crumbs.

Step #2: Carefully pour pretzels into a shallow bowl and sprinkle with coarse salt (more if you like the salty, less or none if the pretzel salt is enough)

Step #3: Melt candy coating in a deep bowl in the microwave.  I followed the directions on the bag.  This was very helpful.  Mine said melt in 20 second intervals and stir in between.  Maybe a cup would be good for this, a very shallow coffee cup.  Yes, do that.

Step #4: Wash strawberries and dry them thoroughly.

Step #5: Pick up your strawberry by the stem, dip it in the chocolate, swirling as you pull it out, then roll it in the pretzels to coat.

Step #6: Let harden on wax paper - about 5 minutes is sufficient.

Tip: These are easiest to eat with smaller strawberries.

Unexpectedly off on vacation tonight!  More delicious delights on Monday!

  3. Funny that you say that about the jello pretzel salad. At our church we provide a meal for the family and friends after a funeral and someone always brings that jello salad. It's good but your version looks better:-)
