Chewy Scratch Brownies

My brain is sadly empty of silly stories and witty comments this morning, so I'm afraid what you see is what you get.

Brownies that did not come from a box, which is new for me, as I'm sure you could guess.

Brownies with a delicious cakey middle, slightly crunchy top and awesome chewy 'crust'.

Brownies modified from Food.com's Scratch Brownies recipe, and baked in two round pans.

Brownies that may have been eaten for breakfast, even though I'm not a chocolate fan.

Scratch Brownies

1 1/4 cups butter, melted
2 cups sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 eggs
1/2 cup cocoa powder
2 cups flour

Step #1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Step #2: Mix melted butter and sugar in a bowl (not mixer).

Step #3: Add vanilla and eggs and mix until blended.

Step #4: Stir in cocoa.

Step #5: Stir in flour just until lumps are gone - the less stirring the better.

Step #6: Pour into two greased 9" round pans.

Step #7: Bake for 18-20 minutes at 350 degrees.
