If I did, I might've known how to melt chocolate.
It's evidently very intense.
The microwave was a fail.
The stove top was a fail.
So... you'd better look up how to melt chocolate before you begin.
Can you believe I didn't google it?
I just assumed I could do something as
Either way, look it up. There has to be a better way.
I modified this recipe: Our Best Bite's Chocolate Frosting.
Perfect Chocolate Frosting
| Yuck. Don't do this. |
Ingredients:
2/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup flour
3 tablespoons cocoa powder
1 cup milk
1 cup butter
2 Hershey's bars, melted
Step #2: Boil sugar, flour, cocoa and milk in a pan, whisking consistently until thickened. Allow to cool.
Step #3: Beat butter into sugar mixture. Step #4: Add melted (ha!) chocolate and continue mixing until fluffy.
Step #5: Use it on your favorite cake recipe! And add marshmallow fluff to make it a S'mores cake!

Mmm s'mores cake.....
ReplyDeleteThis looks good, Caity. You're too hard on yourself. Melting chocolate? For best results, use a double burner, but if you don't have one, do what my husband chooses to do. (put a big plate over a pot of boiling water -- the chocolate sits on the plate and will slowly melt without burning). Reduce the heat a bit once the water boils. You don't want your plate rattling on the rim of the pot.
ReplyDeleteMelting chocolate isn't easy that is for sure. I still don't get it right at times. I do love your cake and the marshmallow fluff was a great addition!
