"Stronger" Chocolate Chip Cookies

These cookies are so good they will make you 'very very stronger' according to mini-muffin#1.

Which is clearly amazing.

I started with the recipe for Classic Chocolate Chip Cookies from America's Test Kitchen (stud-muffin DVR's this show and watches it religiously).  Anyway, I of course began before realizing that we have no butter, no brown sugar, and no walnuts. Ha.

So here is my modified version, and it is still very good if I do say so myself. And it can make you very very stronger.

"Stronger" Chocolate Chip Cookies

7 tbsp shortening
7 tbsp margarine
3/4 c splenda brown sugar
1/2 c sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
1 3/4 c flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp sea salt
1 cup chocolate chips
1 cup chopped walnuts

Step #1: Preheat oven to 375 and line 2 baking sheets with wax paper.

Step #2: Mix margarine, shortening, and sugars in the mixer until creamy.

Step #3: Add eggs and vanilla and continue mixing.

Step #4: In another bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, and salt until combined.

Step #5: Slowly add flour mixture to sugar mixture and mix until combined.

Step #6: Stir in walnuts and chocolate chips

Step #7: Spoon dollops (a heaping tablespoon full) onto cookie sheets and bake for about 12 minutes.

  1. Well, if these make me "very very stronger" than I can't not make them! :)

  2. I am with Jessica! I love the addition of sea salt - it totally takes a cookie to a whole new level. YUM!

  3. Oh no, I'm going to have to try these and then I'm going to get in to trouble with my dieting family members. I shall blame you ;)

  4. What a great recipe! It looks and sounds absolutely amazing. I would so love to try some.

I'd love to hear from you! Comment away!
